Chairpersons Address

Good morning all,

I hope this email finds you well. As we excitingly ebb ever closer to the beginning of our championships I wish to take this opportunity to wish all teams, and their managements, the very best of luck. Over the past few weeks the new committee has settled in and we would like to thank everyone for their well wishes , but more importantly for their help in the early stages of our tenure.

I would also like to extend an even bigger thank you for the results feedback which has seen the profile of our competitions reach audiences far and wide. It has been a baptism of fire to be thrust into the engine room of third level camogie and we are striving to bring information to bigger audiences, and opening as many platforms for players of all abilities to showcase their skills. We have been hugely encouraged by the record number of teams competing at league and championship level and we will endeavour to run all competitions off as smoothly as possible.

Whilst the Ashbourne Cup is nearing its opening games I would like to advise ALL teams of expected protocol for Championship group games. The home team will provide the referee. Where teams are brought to a neutrel venue, the CCAO will provide the referee. The referee must be qualified to intercounty camogie standards. If required we can provide you with a list of all eligible personnel. When booking the referee please encourage him to have umpires and we also ask that all teams bring at least one umpire with them. For championship 2015/2016 all referees MUST forward a report and team sheets to the CCAO. We encourage all teams to provide bibs to distinguish their management teams. This will be enforced for all teams at the finals weekend.

Lastly we will have a promo for our championships next Wednesday 18th November in DCU at 2pm, as we will have 10 teams in attendance for the fresher blitz we ask that ALL colleges send a representative on the day. All players attending are asked to wear a jersey as oppose to a polo shirt or hoodie.  This is an area of our game that has had poor attendance over previous years and we really need your co-operation. Our secretary will be in contact with each college over the weekend to confirm who will attend on your behalf. It shouldnt take anymore than an hour or so and light refreshments will be provided. We can only make this a real success with your help.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your continued support.

Yours In Sport,

Stephen Hoary

CCAO President
