Mary Immaculate College Limerick have qualified for the Ashbourne quarter-final which takes place on Thursday in Martinstown (Limerick) at 7pm against 2016 Ashbourne hosts NUIG. The recently promoted Ashbourne team has a very successful run in their first year of Ashbourne and will be hoping to qualify for the Weekend away hosted by NUIG for the second year in a row. Captain Fiona Morrissey speaks about her team ahead of the prestigious weekend.
‘It is a great honour for me to captain the Mary Immaculate College camogie team for the 2016 Ashbourne Cup. On behalf of the team I would like to pay particular tribute to Adrian O’Sullivan, Kevin Costelloe and Ger Hickey for their diligence and attention to detail throughout the season. I am extremely proud to play alongside each and every girl on the panel and I hope we can reap the rewards of the hard work that has been put in since September. The momentum of Third Level camogie is progressing with each passing year and congratulations to NUI Galway for hosting this prestigious event. Finally, I would like to thank the Sports Office in the college for their continuous support throughout the year. Go n-éirí go geal le gach foireann sa chomortas!’
