Division 1 league 2011 WIT v UL

Division 1 League

9th Nov 2011

UL 2-14
WIT 2-4

WIT senior camogie team went down by ten points to UL in the opening round of the league played at WIT’s Sport Campus. A number of freshers were given the opportunity to start and an evenly contested first half saw WIT lead at the break 2-3 to 0-4. Katrina Parrock scored 1-2 in this period whilst Emma Comerford on her first game for WIT scored a point. Denise Gaule had the finest of finishes as she flicked the ball overhead for Wit second goal. The game was played in ideal weather conditions in WIT Sports Campus. Despite this UL stepped it up a gear in the second half giving a sterner test to the WIT girls.

UL proved too strong in the second half scoring two goals in quick succession along with a number of points. This left the game at 2-8 to 2-3. Katie Power added a further point to the tally but at the final whistle UL ran out 2-14 to 2-4.
